The Sonoma Valley High School Girls Soccer program is offering a three-day camp August 3, 4 and 5 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sonoma Valley High School. The camp is open to all high school players, all incoming freshman, and all girls going into eighth grade who would like to get a feel for soccer at the high school level. The camp costs $95 per player and is being run by Luke Oberkirch, head coach of the woman’s program at Sonoma State University. The camp will focus on all aspects of the game as well as leadership and team building skills. All proceeds go to the girls soccer program at SVHS. The inaugural Sonoma Valley Youth Summer Football Camp for ages 10-13 will take place at the SVHS practice field from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, through Friday, July 23. Cost is $55 per camper. The camp will include two no-pad sessions (Tuesday & Wednesday) and two sessions with pads (Thursday & Friday), and cover gridiron specific speed and agility drills and training; fundamentals, skills, techniques and positions’ instruction. Sonoma Valley Tennis Association, the Kiwanis Club of Sonoma and Rotary Club of Sonoma is sponsoring the 11th annual Junior Tennis Free Summer Program. Certified tennis pro Brett Stephenson and SVTA volunteers will instruct Valley youths, ages 6 -15 at the Maxwell Farms Regional Park courts from 5 to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday. Agua Caliente Aquatic Center is holding registration for its summer swim programs for ages 3-months to adult at the ACAC site, 17350 Vailetti Dr. The programs include swim lessons (ages 3 and up); stroke school (ages 5 and up, deep-water safe); Sea Dragon swim team (ages 5 and up); splash ball and water polo clinics (ages 5 to 14); parent and tot water classes (ages 3 to 36 months); and for adults: masters swimming, water polo, aqua aerobics, Pilates picnic and stroke clinics. North Bay Soccer Camps will hold two one-week sessions of youth camps for boys and girls ages 4 to 13, at Maxwell Farms Regional Park’s lower fields on Mondays through Fridays, July 26 to 30, and Aug. 2 to 6. Cost is $65 for 4 to 7 year-olds and $80 for ages 9 to 12, with a June special of $50 a week for any player. Swim America Sonoma/Valley of the Moon Aquatics, a Swim America-licensed swim school is offering swimming lessons at the Hanna Boys Center pool through Friday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:45 to 3:40 p.m. The 30-minute lessons run Tuesday through Friday weekly, for nine weeks and the cost for a one-week session is $55 a student. Stroke school, offered for swimmers who have advanced beyond Swim America’s Station 6 learn-to-swim curriculum is one hour long, four days a week for four weeks and costs $110. Swimmers ages 4 and older are welcome, with all small-group sizes having two instructors a group. All swim instructors are trained and certified by Swim America.
